1.8t backbox drone

Hi,

I have a remapped 1.8t Leon with its stock exhaust. At between 3.1k and 3.5k whilst cruising, I think the drone noise is coming from the backbox.

I have held the clutch in to notice the sound disappear, so I dont think its wheel bearings etc.

Does anyone sell new backboxes for the Leon 1.8t that are quiet on cruising? Or is this a scrappy hunting job? Not after more noise, just want a bit of quiet when cruising, without sticking the radio on!

Check with a company like VAG-Tech as they have more experience.

That would show gearbox bearing if any, not a wheel bearing the wheels are still rotating just as they were.
