Just been quoted £194 for a FIRST service on a 1.6 leon, is this correct or are they having a laugh!?!?!?!

I was told it's around £112 from David Cook Seat (Oldham), but that was when I was buying the car!

I rang around a few dealers for my first service:

Peterborough (Stoneacre???)£165 (+£10 for a courtesy car)
Lincoln (Advantage) £188 (+£15 for a courtesy car)
Nottingham (Willoughby) about £190 (don't know about the courtesy car)
Middlesbrough, (I was going to be visiting family) (Jennings) £142 (don't know about the courtesy car)

Called Lincoln back and after a discussion with Steph on Seat Service (great girl)
:seatgod:
they agreed to do it for £149, I didn't bother with the courtesy car, just hung around and made the place look untidy for a couple of hours!!

At David Cooks they're running a new servicing cost plan in a sort of traffic light scheme:
red service (equivalent of a 10k or minor service) = £99
amber service (between major and minor, 20/60k service) = £159
green service ( full major service 40/80k with everything changed) = £199

Thought it was quite reasonable myself

That does sound reasonable as i've been quoted over £100 just for parts required.
I've filled an inquiry form on their website so we shall see.
Thanks for the info.

Hmmmm just given me an idea for our place ;)
Seriously tho' some dealers are having a laugh, probably charging £80 an hour labour. I would have thought anything from £100 to £120 was a fair price for a first service on any SEAT . . . . . . .

LC Charles Crewe

Not sure of your location, but LC Charles in Crewe came up trumps for me.

My car is 12 months old (07 plate) 1.9Tdi. Just received a service plan scheme from them: 2 years servicing (20,000 and 30,000 miles service) with an MOT on the 30,000 mile service. Total cost was £299 all in.

I phoned them, as I was unlikely to want next years service as I will swap the car at that time, and they sent me a 1yr service price for the 20k service of £152.53. inc vat. This includes oil, filter, pollen filter, fuel filter and usual checks, full valet.

Great price compared to others so all booked in and confirmed. Also they check 3 days before the service on any recall items, and if there are any it is all done at the service, so no repeat visits. In additioin there was the option of a courtesy car, service whilst I wait, or collect and deliver.

So all in a very happy customer. Incidentally they did my service last year and everything was spot on. I actually asked them not to valet the car, as I'm a bit of a detailing nut and didn't want any marring of the paint finish, and they actually brought the car round for me to collect when it was serviced, it hadn't been valeted and they asked me if I would like to have it valetted whilst I had a coffee, I declined, but they said they would happilly just hoover it out if I wanted (which I did take them up on). So really good customer care for me. Also the unused fluids (screen wash and oil) had been bagged and put in the boot.

Just had 10,000 mile service done on my FR at Wills and Ellis in York. Was told it would be £150 over phone, but when I picked it up they told me they would do for £134. Well pleased. That after getting quotes from £245 - £160 from other dealers.

I got my 20k service done for £200 at Liverpool Seat, that included a brake fluid change and a tenner for the courtesy car too..

Some good guys there, one of the better dealers I think! Also gave me a bit of discount for mentioning I was on here! :)

Cannot recommend David Cooks in Oldham enough. 1st service on a FR TDI - £99 and they sorted a rattle out that had been driving me nuts.
