Safe mode on seat

i have a seat ibiza 1.2 12V 3cylinder ... and i have recently replaced the head gasket on it .. some job to do i tell ya! having sorted the problem and gettin it to run on all 3 cylinder again ... it seems t obe goin into safe mode and not exceedin 30mph .... the coil pack above the second cylinder is dodggy and needs replacing .. does any1 kno if this could have somethin to do with the car goin into safe mode.. please help :shrug:

Id hazard a guess as yes... if the 2nd cylinder is knackered, and you know it needs replacing then first thing is first, replace it and then see if it goes into limp mode anymore.

yeah .. the cylinders are fine .. the problem is electrical ... the second coil pack does not have a rubber insulator on the bottom so ifit is arcin across in in casin this could case problems couldnt it??

Sorry yes, replace "cylinder" in my last post to "coil pack"

Basically if you know its not right, change it/fix it and then go from there. Assume you have ran Vag-com on it?

i have done yeah .. my fathers mate does diagnostics and i called him out ... he was a waste of time and said it was somethin to do with a fuel level ... but my car had a good quater tanks worth oh fuel init ..... im goin to change the coil pack and see what happens from there .. ifits doin the same thing i will look at the idle control vavle and a few other things .. failin that i will put it into my local seat dealer and tell them the problem and get them to sort it out.

Wouldnt ever take it to a stealer matey, sounds like you know whats going on yaself, however is all fails, take it to a specialist, depending on where in the North East would depend which one mind!

I will go out on a limb and say he wont charge you matey, however a pint at the pub im sure he would take up :)
