Where can i fit a head unit ?

i got a new kenwood headunit for xmas and i was wondering where i could fit it because of the screen in the dash ?
any pics would be usefull too :)

In the dash as mentioned, below the dash (in the cubby hole), the the storage slot under the steering wheel, in the glove box, mounted remotely with the faceplate on the sun visor, in the air vents, take airbag out and put it there?(pass side).

Theres endless possibilities, just have a look through the mk3 section, its one of the most commonly talked about issues

what needs to be dont to fit it underneath the steering wheel ? is there any guides ?
also would i be able to control the after market head unit via the stock 1 or will they work seperatly ?

thely work seprattly

youl have to make some modifications to the stero wiring loom to make it fit imm sure that there is a guide if you seaarch for it

I dont think you have to make any modifications to the loom, IIRC it has normal plugs on the back for headunits

there iso's behind on the back of the radio.they should by the looks go down to there.
if you put it where the tape deck is do you loose the controlls fro the heater screen ?

i would take a pic and post it up for u but unfortunatly im traveling new zealand for the next two months so cant, lol. if u get the original 106 facia then it will all sit flush and not stick out from the dash although the cd player doesnt sit as nicely in the facia as it would in the cd adaptor one, hope that makes sense

i have got the same issue here, want to fit a decent cd player or even a seat cd player, but dont know how to go about doing it??? please help guys.

the are under niegth the steering collum with a little nip an tuck it will fit then make a set of piggy back leads so you can still run the original seat headunit and ba,m away you go . the difference in sound is ace ,although i had compnents

thanx 4 replying mate, but sorry i didnt quite understand wot you meant by underneath steering wheel column, im new to this so gotta bare wit me..lol.
