fair enough. i live relitively close to JKM so would probably go ther in future. reason i was askin is because i'm still in my used car warranty from seat and i could be mistaken (cause i was told it was against the law to weld people into forcing you to go to a seat dealer for servicing) but i think my paper work suggests that i am indeed tied into going to seat for servicing inorder to preserve the warranty. which will be fun as its cam belt and water pump time. woo...

and i had a courtesy car with the new seats and theyre awesome! (hence why i was asking at the dealer) the new gear knobs are smooth aswell. want one. dunno if it would fit. do you know of any regularish seat meets down your way?

I'm not so sure they fit. I checked on my mate's Mk2 Leon quickly and couldn't see that frames were the same. I have changed the seats on my MK1 Leon and don't see them bolting straight in.

Hi all its me thats trying to fit the mk2 fr seats in my mk1. Just put a post in another thread in here about it before seeing this one oops! Basically the runners work differently (mk1 has one runner mounted sideways) but i dont see this being a major issue. I have measured up and seats will fit in the space (a little tight in places) but as the mk2 has standard style runners (basically 2 in parallel) it should only be a matter of drilling the subframe and bolting them down (got the wiring also but got a mate who is pretty clued up on that. I am gagging to start it but have to finish building an extension on my house at the mo and dont have the time. One good thing for me is that my missus has a mk2 fr and also have another mk1 cupra in the family so will be able to mess with mine and check against those 2. I will try and pull my finger out and get cracking with the passenger seat in the next week and let you all know how i get on.

Wish i could click my fingers and have the house done and my nice new garage but more chance of laying an egg :)

I will keep you up to date lads and was sitting on them in the house last night and cant wait to put them in. They are so much more comfortable!!

Now i could live in the car, but think the missus would have a bit of a problem with it plus would have to get a power convertor for her straightners and not sure if the tumble drier will run off the fag socket!!! :p lol

Glad I am not the only who had seats in his house. I had mine in the lounge for a week before I got around to fitting them. The GF was not impressed!!

Then I had them out again and back in the lounge when I had this infamous water leak in the footwell!!

Oh well it's all good fun

Good luck with the extension and hope the weather holds out for you

As far as i know as long as the garage you use fits genuine parts the warranty is uneffected. JKM are a top notch company, i've used them many times.

Hey guys, has anyone fitted the mk2 fr seats into a mk1 yet?

I really want to get some fitted in mine but not sure how easy it is going to be so all feedback is appreciated.
