afternoon all

i've been saving and looking for full stainless systems for the car, it needs a full system to pass the mot, as mine blows at various points.

i was looking at a magnex system, the 6" x 4" oval tailpipe desigin, but rang venommotorsport.com and ofund out that magnex have gone bust, nothing being made at all. I'm now stumped as what to do, i will have about £300-£50 to spend, and i cant drive the car at the moment, as there is no tax, mot or insurance on it

will an aftermarket mk3 system fit? like this

any help much appreciated

Cheers

I had a custom one done mate and it was £330 all in.

I know some Mr Tyre places do them. Not sure where Kingston is fella but i am sure you will have a place a bit local that will build you one.

he can't get there without insurance though. he could argue that it was going there for repair, but it'd have to be close (and probably have a fail sheet confirming the need for the exhaust)

yeh i cant afford to tax and mot it, but to tax a car it must have Mot, and to get the mot i'll have to get the exhaust fixed

never ending circle lol

anyone reckon that mk3 system will fit? (the link i put up)

yeah am thinking the same. I have a mk3 standard cat back in my garage waiting to go on, but am tempted by the miltek for a mk3 if it would fit. Failing that crezz style jan speed for me.
How far the tailpipes stick out??

for that money you could get a custom built one that won't clang and rattle on the rear beam like all the off the shelf ones do! if there is anywhere near you, you could tow it there

Only problem with using the Mk3 Miltek is that it's designed for a 20vT engine not the 8v or 16v engine.

A n/a engine doesn't need as big of a bore as a turbo. This is the problem with Chris's, if you go for an exhaust thats designed for your car as standard (well with no boost), like a Magnex then that exhaust is not meant for boost.

You can go to a custom exhaust company and they give you a exhaust bore that is needed for a s/c engine, as it will need a bigger bore compared to say mine!

Or go for a exhaust system that is designed for the Mk3 Ibiza, Miltek, Blue flame, supersprint....... With keeping in mind of the spec of you engine now, I would look for custom or Mk3 Ibiza aftermarket system!

All the time I have been reading this thread only now I clicked that a aftermarket exhaust for a 16v wont be any good to you

But with a aftermarket one like that, it's designed to work with the engine and get some power from it.

With a custom exhaust it's hit or miss, they go by "Will it fit here?, Will it knock against that?" They might make a exhaust that perfect for the engine (by mistake) or it could be ****.

Give you an example, my mate had a Fiesta Zetec S and went to longlife to get a daul exhaust tailpipe and cat back system. Not sure on the standard power figures?? 120bhp init? He pulled 128bhp, then he took it off and got a racing puma exhaust (which they say is the best for the zetec) and he pulled less on the rollers!

It really is a hit or miss when it comes to custom exhausts, unless you speak to a company called Simpsons Exhaust and they will design a exhaust to the spec of the engine..... build exhausts for racing car, etc..... but a cat back system they ask £700! :censored:
