I believe Sports are 256mm

i thought the same, just wanted to be sure it's a bolt on mod as the smaller 239mm has different hub/bearing carriers

in fact if it's lucas brakes (256) iirc all you need is the 280mm frame itself

smaller ones have the caliper mounting built in to the carrier whereas the 256/280 have a bolt on frame that the caliper then fits to

239 are a built in hub/frame

256 bolt in small diameter

280 bolt in large diameter

to convert 256-280 you'll need frames and discs for it to all line up

Flapper-whats the frame? Is it the caliper carriers or are the hubs already drilled for the calipers?

caliper carriers are held on to the hub 2 bolts then the caliper fits to that

ill post a pic up later

Sweet so I just need some cupra carriers then (or golf G60, etc)

difference in terminology that's all

wheel bearing housing on 239mm discs fits the caliper direct as the caliper carrier is built in (2 part)

256/280 is just a bearing housing on its own with a bolt on frames/carriers which the caliper then fits onto with slider pins (3 part)

if you have 256's (pretty sure it is but check) and get a 280 caliper set with frames/carriers it's a bolt on job

if you have 239's you'll need bearing housings from a 256/280 to go with it

send me an email and ill forward a pic to help ?

Bump for this thread. My mechanic said the brakes will need doing soon.

Flapper I sent you an email after your last post, but had no reply
