Wont go into 6th gear

My car has a small prob where it will not allow me to select 6th gear most of the time. Sometimes it goes in without any probs, but mainly it refuses.

Not had this problem ever before, only started a few days ago. Car is out of its warranty now aswell which is a bummer!

Anything I can look for?

Its a Ibiza TDi FR 06.

aren't 06 cars covered by 3yrs warranty?

but check that nothing jamming the linkage on top of the gearbox

Mines done 64k now so its out of its warranty period sadly.

Ill take a look under the bonnet tomorrow. All the other gears are perfectly fine, its just 6th - surely something jamming the linkage would affect all the gears?

with it being just out of warranty SEAT might do a goodwill claim for you.

saying there is a recall on fr box's b/c of the fluid. maybe the fluid broke yours ?

Ahh yes Wez, ive spoken to him a few times recently about upgrading and also warranty as Danny wasnt there.

I got a great deal from them, so was very happy with my new FR.
