It will fit your 2008 Leon.

Was tempted to get one of these as its not too far from where i live, but i'm waiting to get the Seat version, prefer to have the Seat logo on startup instead of the VW logo.
Nothing different between the two models, just my own preference.

The logo and the Fact the Seat units don't have the SD card slot.

just a silly question but why would you want to spend £800 + on an oem when you can buy better more equipped models from pioneer or Alpine which are cheaper?
am i missing something special about the SEAT and VW models?

the oem ones integrate into the seat system, so you get all the info onto your cluster display.

But i am coming round to getting a pioneer or something like that.

I noticed last night, you can get a windows based machine and do word processing and i think it claimed wireless internet.

Which model Pioneer are you considering?

Have checked a comparable Pioneer to the Seat MFD3, ie: 30gb Hard drive / Touch screen / SatNav / Etc. and its approx £1400

Are there other models which are similiar spec to the MFD3 for approx £800.

i was also looking at other options and found this > pioneer AVIC-F900BT looks really good althought no large hard drive!

Like the look of the Pioneer HU, being as i've not got the large mfd i'm liking the added bonus of a fully integrated bluetooth phone & its voice activated too.

For an extra £30 you can add full Ipod connectivity, so you wouldn't need the hard drive option, aslong as you have an Ipod that is.

I'm not that technically minded when it comes to ICE installations, so if anyone can answer a couple of questions:

The Seat MFD3 is plug & play, is the Pioneer that simple too, or would i need to change any wiring?

Would the steering wheel controls still work when an aftermarket HU is fitted?

Many thanks for your assistance.
