Why would you upgrade the exterior lights if your dashlights are failing. Surely you would put the money towards having these repaired? Unless you dont drive at night, then there would be no reason to get HIDS.

If you do want HIDS then i would recommend a set from diane-store off ebay, had no probs and you also get a warrenty with them.

If you go for the 2 separate kits then yes, that'll be 4 ballasts. However, you don't really want to go with HIDs for the main beam, as they take a few seconds to arc up and steady down to the correct light. In those 10 seconds or so you'll get virtually no light to start with, then a changing colour spectrum until you get full light eventually. If you really need full beam immediately then you'll not have it. Consequently, people go for HIDs for the dip and standard bulbs for the main beam. That's what I did and it's not too bad.

was also thinkin of philips blue vision bulb cos of the mot issue but heard from a few people that it doesnt really matter so might just go for normal xenons
