Just wondering if there was a strutt bar for the Altea FR? I figured that it could do with a little tightening of the front and back, I do a fair bit of country road driving every day so have a lot of bends to contend with, figured that a brace or two may help a bit.
Excellent, thanks for that, and as said, not a bad price either, our cars are so tall that I think the addition of a brace may actually improve things no end.
Saying that, some idiot decided to do an emergency stop for no reason and (yes, I know it's my fault), I smashed into the back of hime, so this will need to wait until it's back from the repair shop
Since the strut tops on the Altea are almost entirely surrounded by the bulkhead I can't imagine a brace will make any real difference.
Rear strut brace would ruin the boot and in fairness, Alteas are not being bought as pure performance cars. People are buying them because they have a boot. Leave the braces to the Leon owners.
Hmmm, well insurance company is picking up that tab (I hope), looking at the damage it's only a new bumper and fog lights so shouldn't be too much time before I get her back.
As for the rear strut brace, I wouldn't want to lose any boot space so probably a good move not to have one, front strut brace is a maybe, even if it tightens it up a bit the difference would be noticeable. At £50 it's worth a punt anyway
You can get a removable brace for the rear, so if you need the boot for larger items take out the brace and use as is, if not bulky etc, just work with it if you want the improvements from having one.
the Alteas front struts are not realy in the engine bay like most cars, they are to the side of the base of the Windscreen. as to fitting it really depends on how easy it is to get it bolted on.
