Hids 4 U Pics Please!

Hi Guys,

Quick question to all these who have fitted the HIDS4U ultimate kit to their car (or in fact any other kit if the below applies).

Made a start fitting my new kit this evening but fell at the first hurdle really. The new kit comes with a red and black connector (pos + neg) to plug into the original power supply in the car, however...... On removing the old bulb I realised that there was no pos and neg marked on either the bulb or the power connector.

Does it matter which way round they go on the new kit? My confusion lies why they would have a red and black wire in the kit and it not be marked on the car power connector.

Anyone have any ideas? :help:

Cheers

i tested the car plug with a voltage tester as wasnt sure if i pluged it in worng it might blow sumthing...

i'm sure on mine the positive was on the left side of the connector if u held it facing towards u with the wires facing down.

dont quote me tho just incase lo

Thanks for the responses guys.

Yeah the wires on the HIDs are colour coded so that isnt an issue, the problem is as S2TTB said is that the wires on the car connector block are both black, no reference at all to positive or negative.

So the plan.... If it doesn’t blow anything if you get them the wrong way round (which it obviously doesn’t if it didn’t for seremotors ;) ) then its not such a big deal. However, I will try as S2TTB said: positive on the left of the connector (facing me, with wires pointing down) as a starting point.

Will report back on which was which.

Got my new ones fitted today, HUDS4U ultimate. Very impressed with the light however they seem to be angled very low i.e done illuminate much road at all (the bit they do is awesome though lol).

Reading back through the thread people have adjusted the angle haven’t they (upwards). How would I got about doing this, I see the white plastic screw on the headlight unit and seem to remember reading this is something to do with it?

Is it just a case of unscrewing and moving etc? How does it work?

HIDs4U have put the price of the anti-glare bulbs up!!
Now they are £75 a pair (£60 with discount code).

Still going to get some though, as the wife followed me home tonight (she was in the Leon), & the non anti-glare bulbs don't look completely perfect. Going to try 5000K too, as the 6000K is a little too blue for my liking.

My 5000K anti-glare HID bulbs arrived this morning!!

Should be able to fit them tonight. Will be interesting to compare with my old 6000K normal bulbs.

Fit one of the 5000K, let the lights warm up and take a photo please. So we can compare ;)
