Exellent thread - may have to look into installing HID's...sick of spending loadsa money on bulbs trying to get the HID look - just not possible!

True but i will say the Ultra Blue H7 bulbs i tested were not unlike a Xenon look. However, i still prefer the Hids4U kit i have as you get the look and the practicality of real Xenon/HID bulbs

Hi Guys,

First post on here, picked up my new 07 plate Fr Tdi the other weekend and think its fantastic. :funk:

Been following a lot of threads on this forum for mod's etc well before I actually got my Fr and HIDs were quite high up my list. After reading through I decided to go for the Ultimate kit with the anti glare bulbs, I paid £172 delivered using the STRATHY discount code and am expecting them by the end of this week.

I know a coiuple of you have fitted these fairly recently, any problems to report? Also, am I right in thinking fitting these requires the 25mm hole drilling in the light cover or does this not apply for the ultimate kit (with the short bulbs)?

Cheers

Hi mate,

Thanks for the quick response. I have read through your thread before as an alternative to the huds4u option however my question was specific to the ultimate kit (shorter bulbs?). I read reports, some saying you need to cut the hole and others saying you don’t but it is the proper way etc hence my current confusion. Was hoping someone who installed the kit recently could share their findings.

You need to drill holes in the light cover for both kits. The guide here is a good guide that can be applied to fitting any type of HIDs kit of the Leon MKII.

Coupon code required for HIDS 4 U. Where do U get it from ???

I remembered reading about it in one of these threads a few weeks ago, just did a google search and it came up. The one I used was 'Strathy' but I think 'toyota one' can also be used on the ultimate kit. Credit to the guys who found them originally.

Hope this helps.
