As a cable coming out of it, that you can plug a stick into.

I had the 700BT and my N95 wouldn't connect to it, other phones did fine though.

Cheers Lee... the cable comes out the back, into where? I like the idea of it since it'll be hidden away and will look a bit better than being stuck out, but I dunno how convenient it is, or more importantly if I'd be able to fit it!

Regarding the 700BT info too, that's a bit disappointing, as the phone I'm thinking of getting is an N95, so think I'll give the bluetooth a miss.

Thanks again

Bloody hell! That's insane! I thought they were quality phones too.

I quite like the idea of it going into the glovebox if I'm honest, I don't suppose you can connect an iPod up to it as well can you? I'm not that fussed, but it'd save me a lot of money as I'd be a lot less tempted to pick up a new phone too :D

Tell you what, at times like this I wish I wasn't so bloody indecisive!

Fair enough, thanks Lee, on hindsight that's not too bad.

I'm buying a new head unit for my car, I have to make the choice between Bluetooth and iPod support, and I can't decide for the life of me.

iPod support would be nice, but I'm not sure I'd want to take it everywhere with me.

Bluetooth support would be nice, but I don't make many calls if I'm honest, and would need to buy a new phone for the music support anyway.

I can't decide which to go for; the DEH-P6000UB or the DEH-600BT!!

Hah! I'm really not sure, the bluetooth one looks a lot nicer too... just wondering, is the dial silver or like a dark grey/black? I'm being really fussy now, but I just went to get the iPod one and it looks like arse, especially compared to the lovely 700BT!

I know this'll make me sound shallow as hell, but I hate silver on stuff like that, especially when the entire rest of the dash is black with red lights...

That Alpine one looks pretty cool too thanks, does it have bluetooth as standard? I got really excited when I saw this, only to realise bluetooth is an optional extra! :(

I have a bad feeling I'm going to do what I usually do, which is decide I want something, narrow it down to two options, one of which I very almost impulse buy, then I start having second thoughts, get really confused and just leave it... only go to purchase it a year later and wonder why I didn't do it sooner! :D

Hah :D Glad I'm not the only one who's like this anyway!

I was very almost suckered in by this fake Pioneer from Ebay too :E

Oh! One other question (jeez, sorry) - how did you guys run a cable from the stereo to the glove compartment? I just went to check it out and there are no holes/covers to take off, just solid plastic, do you have to drill through? o_O

That's a real pioneer it just tunes into even numbers only ie 97.8 98.0 98.2 and so on.
And you will get stung by import tax.

Yeah you would need to remove the glovebox and drill a suitable hole :)

Bloody hell, never knew that! It is tempting, although like you said the import tax will be a killer, plus I'd rather have something red (lame eh?)

Might just go for the cheap and cheerful I think - a USB stick would look a bit crap sticking out but ah well, I'm not sure I trust myself drilling holes through the glovebox :D

get the pioneer deh-700bt, costs £199, but well worth it.
you can adjust the LCD and Key colour individually

supports ipod, bluetooth phone and music streaming (i stream music from N95 fine)
got a rear USB so you run cable to wherever you want, i have it on a usb pen drive and running off SD/micro SD card with a USB adapter.

....and the best bit, it looks great, and goes with the interior really well

blizeh, running the cable to your glovebox isn't hard. if you remove the blanking section(where the cd changer normally is) you can stick you arm right round the back of the glovebox, and the stick your other arm in the hole where the headunit fits and you should be able to touch fingers after a bit of fiddling! then you can just pass the cable between hands.
in case your dilema wasn't tricky enough; i still haven't got round to selling my kenwood! its this unit http://www.ciao.co.uk/Kenwood_KDC_W_7534_U__6837504 with the optional bluetooth module; at some point i'll get round to sorting out a proper for sale ad for it; but pm if your interested.
