Are HIDs4u not cheaper specially when used with a discount code?

S2TTB - Are those the anti-glare HIDs? Look really good. You need some LED sidelights now to match the colour ;) Hint *cough* sig ;)

Yup they are the antiglares.

i think i've worked out what it does aswell.... i'll check alex's at the meet next week as he has the normal set up ..

nah, not one for led sidelights. never liked them, look to chavvy for my liking :)

ps, i wud put pics up at night but i'm struggling to get a good pic with my cam as it just seems to glare and not show off the true light and colour :(

I would guess it should give a fairly clear cut off of light on the road. Fitting mine on Friday, am I right in thinking the silver strip on the bulb faces down toward the ground?

the bulbs can only fit one way as they have a groove in them like normal bulbs.

had a look tonight...standard bulbs and hids reflect around the whole of the headlight filling the full circle if u knwo wat i mean?

with the anti glare, the light only reflects off the top half of the headlight filling a half of a circle...making the light point downwards.

to be honest, i recon normal anti glare hids might give a slightly bigger range..

Sounds good, that was the reason i got the anti-glare

after getting the flickering problem with a cheap n nasty ebay kit (should have known better), i stuck in my hids4u kit last night and tbh first impressions were just ok. then i went for a drive in proper darkness and WOW what a difference, especially with the PIAA tera sidelights. im lovin' it :p now the missus is jealous because her clio has daft bulbs that cant be swapped for hid's  the discount code from hids4u saved me a packet too!!!
just a note on the hid's - a pal fitted his and reckons you can get away with lifting the beam slightly using the white adjusters on the headlamp units ;)

Got mine fitted on Monday night, sorry I havent posted yet, ive been flat out at work, really great job so they are and immense light.

Have to tidy up the wiring at the weekend as its a bit untidy at the mo. Like seremotors says, you can get away with raising the manual adjusters a bit to improve the range of the beams as full beam is now redundant with the HIDs fitted. Ive tried this by following my mates Leon and getting him to drive towards me at night and even though I have raised the beam, he says that the lights aren't blinding him :D

seremotors,
Good to see you got them fitted mate, they really do make a world of difference to the standard set up.

Fitted mine on Sunday and they are superb! Driving home tonight over the hills was like driving in daylight, really impressed. Will raise the beam a little mind as it seems a little to low. For those that have raised them, where is the manual adjuster?

So what side lights has everyone gone with? I've found a voucher code "toyota one" that allows you to buy them for £160 does anyone have a better code??

Think I used the code "STRATHY", used it while they had a sale, and only paid £125 :D

I just checked my email invoice and I got £80 off with that code, so you should get the same ;)

Subtotal: £199.99
Coupon saving (strathy): £80.00
Discounted subtotal: £119.99
Shipping cost: £5.00
Total: £124.99

Enjoy :D

I know these HID kits are good as I had a similar kit on my FTO and it was the best mod I did, so def going to get some, just need to lower the price more!

07-07-2008 so yes fairly recent. But there was some sale discount/promotion at the same time, that may not have shown up in the invoice billing.

For those that bought the kits without the anti-glare bulbs, just to let you know you can pick these bulbs up for cheaper then the standard ones ;) LINK
