im 19

07 2.0tdi 140 leon full bodykit, 18" alloys, hella lights, and stereo claimed.

Passed test 2 years, 1 year NCB, no claims or points, insured with elephant for £1200.
Also a suzuki SV 650 (0-60 in 3.5 secs!) £420 couldnt beleive how much cheaper bike insurance is for the power!

Tip: Put yourself as first driver, add a older women and man (parents, grandparents) with alot of driving experience prefereably, millage 3000-4000 (they ask for estimate :D) and parked in street (will bell and elephant quotes)

Im not kidding when I put that in it almost halved my insurance! Try it for yourselves but the older you are the less of a drop it will be.

I did a quote on a 140 TDI myself a while back and it cost the same as what im paying for my 1.4 sport now with the same insurer! No idea how that works out seeing as my car is a group for and the 140tdi a grp 9.

In front of a PC....
31 years old with a 140PD TDI with Aero Kit. Just paid £580 for insurance this year (had 4 years NCB until my accident in April but now has been rolled back to 2 years and I wasn't driving like a :censored: either. Wrong place at the wrong time and the claim still hasn't been settled properly)

Well, I'm 43 as well, guess the op is a bit older now tho, I spent the last 7 years drivin a pug 205 diesel that cost me £500 and just scrapped it getting £150 back with 250k on the clock. With what I saved over those years I decided it was time to treat myself to something nice. Balls to what they say they are just jealous.

I'm 30 year old - 31 in about 3 weeks - and i feel a car like the Leon FR is perfect for my age group.
My days of two seaters and rockhard suspension are over. I need room for the kids and all the related paraphenalia (the pram fitting in the boot was a godsend!), comfy and grippy seats that the baby seat fits into, 5 doors, decent MPG, auto for tootling around in traffic.... the list goes on!
But at the same time it has a gorgeously sleek, menacing look and turns into a beast come weekend or if i get out on my own.

Perfect compromise for a 30 year old this car - satisfies my practical, safe and sensible Dad side, then appeals to the 20 something boy racer in me when needed!

Hi Andrew

I think I'm about to take "pole position" on this one....I've got a MKII Leon Cupra in black, got it just 2 weeks ago...................and I'm 46..

I'm lucky as all the comments I've got from people at work to date is how great the car looks and can they have a "go in it"...

It helps that I don't look my age (or act like it...apparently):)

47 and counting. Although my insurance is cheap as chips anyway ( under £300) I am sure I'll be able to get it even cheaper in 3 years time with SAGA.

Hello MK2 owners. Sorry, I don't venture in here often & on this occasion I am trying to find the factory name for some OEM wheels Seat fitted to their FR's with aero body kits...anyway that's off topic, just rambling...

I haven't read all of the previous gazillion replies but I don't think you are too old at all. I am 22 & I drive a MK1 Cupra R (sorry, not a mk2), I honestly feel a bit young to be driving this as anyone else I see around my way who owns one has at least 10yrs on me.
But what's the alternative...Civic Type R? They used to be desirable but I don't wear enough Burberry for that now & with an S3, I'd be in the same predicament so you know what, as long as you like it...stick with it! :)
