Had a look mate, think it's a boost issue, depends whether it does that on the road?

I've managed to fix the lumpy idle that my car was experiencing.

I was giving my engine bay a once over whilst it was running and noticed a hissing sound from the fuel rail area. Turns out injector number 3 was leaking air past the seal at the manifold.

I removed the genesis seals that came with the injectors and swapped them for VAG seals which seem to be very slightly larger in size. The air leak has now disappeared and consequently the idle is now perfect. Backfires have also been reduced, now mostly occuring at warm up which I can deal with and control.

So essentially I guess my build thread is finished (for now) as I'm happy the way the car is performing.

I think I'll head over to JKM at some point just to compare rolling road figures after fitting my new engine mounts when they arrive.

Good idea to get a seperate rr done but be prepaired for the worse ( as you know what happened to me )

Does the car feel any different to drive? I remember you saying that you loved how it felt after getting it back.

Maybe get a third opinion, but if you're boosting okay, have good lambda and ignition values then I would just go out and enjoy driving it.

Bit of an update. I decided to purchase one of Racelogic's traction control kits for those wet days. A little bit of an impulse buy really, but I'm glad I did, all I can say is WOW!!!! It really does what it says on the tin. I'm very impressed with it. Calibration was a simple process of finding a straight piece of road with a 180° SLOW bend onto another straight. Took 5 minutes.
Now I can put my foot down and it grips in all gears.....very satisfying as the car launches off. I'm still playing with the settings as you can adjust minimum speed threshold, slip override for straights, launch settings etc.
There are 4 sequential cut sequences with increasing severities of fuel cut depending on the amount of slip detected. Very smooth and progressive.
Launch control sounds awesome with all the pops etc.
I can't wait for it to rain to see how it is in damp conditions.

Here are some fitting pics for those who like to see things in bits.

Finished injector cuts. Used plugs so I can revert to standard if required. Also sealed with silicone to stop water ingress (not pictured):

I should be picking my new engine mounts up today as they've arrived in the country. I'd post pics, but everyone knows what they'll look like! :)
