Headlight Warning Question

Ok, rookie question, but should there be a warning noise reminding me I've left my headlights on when I open the door? My old MK1 had one but my new MK2 Stylance doesn't seem to have one? Am I expecting a noise that doesn't exist?

Thanks

As a roockie too ( I 've just took mine yesterday) when you lock up everything turns off, including the headlights.

So no sound needed.

PS. My car has the auto light (with a sensor on the internal mirror) system.

in the curpa with xenons it will remind you if you have just sidelights on, if you leave xenons on and open door there is no sound because they can be set to automatically go off at your set interval

This is the coming home feature - they will turn themselves off - time changeable from the MFD.

You will get a warning if you just have sidelights on though.

Related question - sort of.. does anyone get anything on the dash to tell them the lights are on... the only way I know mine are on is that the dash illumination is on...... Mk1 actually had a light on the dash to show lights were on (t was green)

Yeah got bluetooth on an 07 model FR, on mine you can adjust the interior lights but not the outside ones even says in my handbook that only the dealer can adjust the coming home function,

Can you have a look and tell me what i need to do to change it when you get chance please ??, its on for about a minute on mine and i get people saying i have left my lights on lol.

I just tried it on mines and it does go ping ping when you leave the lights on (MY07) but my car is just the bog standard one with no coming home features or factory Xenons.

on an fr with bluetooth:
menu
setup
lights & vision
coming home

Default is 40 I believe, you can increase or decrease by 10 seconds

On non fr models I don't believe you have this option.

For the avoidance of doubt - and for those searching for this in the forums at a later date. The coming home feature IS changeable through the MFD ( I suspect subject to you having the large MFD/Bluetooth)

Its in the MFD setup menu - and has options to turn it off/on and alter time in 10s blocks.

sorry to drag up an old thread, but my wife left the lights on just, and when u open the door there is no warning buzz, u only get a warning noise if u open the door with the sidelights on, if u have the xenons on there is no noise, ive tried locking the car leaving the lights on to see if it turns them of i left it about 1min and they stayed on?

any idea's?

Just wait!

They will go off.

If you have bluetooth then you can set it to whatever time you want Upto about 5 mins.

On mine before i turned on the coming home feature the warning sound would be present if i left the lights on and took the keys out of the ignition and opened the drivers door(i never tested to see if the lights actually turn themselves off.

Now that i have enable the coming home feature i don't get any warning now and have the lights set to stay on for 10 or 20 seconds, can't remember what i have set it to .
