*EDIT* Front grill sprayed red on the 3rd page

Hey up guys. Just thought id give a quick post to show my quick less than 5 hour spraying skills :p . Definately the hardest part was working out how to get the damn things out!

And a few updates on the carpc

Started out spending a fiver on the red paint:

I already had the primer and clear coat from other jobs.

Work area in my kitchen:

Gave them a quick scrub down with some wire wool

First coat of primer filler:

Then realised i'd forgotten the gear surround, these were quite hard to sand smooth took a good 20-30 mins. I then ran out of primer so didnt bother with any other coats

First coat of red:

Second coat:

Gave them a two layers of clear laquer 15 mins apart, left for approx 1 hour then carefully fitted (didnt want to scratch).

Really not sure on the top window vents, tempted to spray them back to black, opinions?

n.b. thats not the kind of stain your thinking of! It was from the previous owner with a big greasy burger, ive tried everything to get it out!

Looks really good, I was thinking about doing mine, I had the chrome last time and I wasn't too keen. I miss my Car PC it got stolen about a month after I'd got it totally sorted :(

The pc's in the boot?! lol im sure i posted pics :p

Yeah it starts to boot 5 seconds after the ignition is swtiched. When the key is removed it sends a signal to windows to hibernate, leaving 45 seconds for it to shut down before a hard shut down of power takes place

Never thought of putting the PC there, nice one! I would love to do this but don't want to make any permanent changes to the car so putting in a screen wouldn't be easy,

Just about all of it is reversable. just buy a second hand centre console, £20 max. Although i did hack up the cup holder and bottom thing where i put the hazards/airbar light/ heated rear sceen buttons. But again, these will cost peanuts to replace!

Have you checked my carputer thread in my sig, shows all there!

Bog standard sport alloys :( . On the look out for some 17" rs6 alloys though!

The grill could either look really good or really really bad. hmm choices

I suppose its going for the gti sort of look:

looks good just thinking of doing this myself but im going to go for a less vibrant and more pastel red i think as thats a bit to neony for my liking.

Im going to buy the primed fittings from seat and then spray myself... was it just a case of spraying them 3 times yeah?

Forgot to add, did you use laquer to finish it, or would you reccommend. Cheers!
