i thinking im gettin a 1.4tsi reference sport with bluetooth option and that comes with steering wheels controls so if i got the MFD3 install after market would the steering controls work with it?

Only if you retro fit the ' Premium Bluetooth ' kit in place of the standard Bluetooth kit...

The premium unit is 7L6 035 730 C. Apparently the "C" provides the RNS-510 (MFD3) functionality.

Maybe VRSTU can find a cheap source for you.

I've already had a price from Stu, and it's not too bad, plus he thought I could recoup alot of the outlay by then selling my existing Bluetooth Module

No the fitted Bluetooth will work in exactly the same way with the RNS510 as it does with the standard stereo- if you want to use all the telephony features that the RNS510 is capable of then you need the Premium Bluetooth

No-one's yet managed to work out a way to re-flash mfd2 units between Seat, VW and Skoda, so you may be waiting a long time for that.

Incidentally can anyone confirm that the SDCard functionality on the VW unit is limited to max. 2Gb?

There's a decent Alpine DVB-T box available but if you want the pukka VW part (3D0 919 148 for the Phaeton) you'll pay a fortune. You will also need the cable.

So how do you set the unit up on my standard BT it appears as a SEAT_UHV and if I bought a premium unit from VRStu it wouldbe a Skoda one.
How do I change the Skoda one to appear as a SEAT one when connecting.
(I know I can rename it on my phone, but would prefer a full OEM setup)
