Cars have always looked samey, they all follow one another for design cues. Whether it was a Vauxhall Cavalier or a Ford Sierra to pick 2 out of the air. It's not a modern or age thing, its a design following form and function thing and that will go on forever.
What I like about this concept is its been designed with a purposeful look, not bolted on as an afterthought. There is nothing extremely outrageous about it, yes its got big rims, and a centre exit exhaust. But there are no silly fins sticking out on it, the body panel shapes are very much achievable on a production car. It's not overly fussy in the overall grand scheme of things.
How they tone it down, for the production Ibiza will be key.
The one thing that embellishes a SEAT Ibiza over a Vauxhall Corsa is it's rarity. VX Corsa's will be ten a penny, Ibiza's though a popular model for SEAT will never sell in comparable numbers to the Corsa.
