It has been said that i like a little bit of bling,

But has anyone ever considered refurbing the LCR alloys in Chrome.

I can imagine the downfalls:

1. Hard to keep clean
2. mark really easily
3. not to everyones taste
4. People banging on your window wanting to score a gram of powder

But the positives:

1. I think would look mighty fine.

And as mine stays in the garage for 350 days of the year, i could keep on top of the cleaning,

As a compromise, i think this would look just as good

Surrey darling...
A very bright met silver would look great on a black LCR IMO... chrome would look too bling and black would make it look like you didn't have any alloys!

I was a black LCR in crayford once that had o/e 18", the spoke faces were polished and the sides of the spokes and inner rim were painted gloss black looked very nice.
Although i dont think full chrome wheels would suit an LCR, a bit to bling IMO

I like point nº 4 " Sniff-Sniff" :cartman:

Maybe try and get them Highly Polished, you will get that ALMOST CHROMED look.

Ive seen a LEON here with the OEM FR 17" done... It looked really nice..

that would be my only concern but as you say yourself - it's garaged most of the time so the UK weather won't get a chance to take its toll on the finish.

Have you seen the FAQ's?

"Can chromed alloys be re-chromed?"

Sorry, it is impossible to re-chrome alloys in this country or even in Europe, due to legislation involving the chemical process.

The only option for chromed alloys that are scuffed / tarnished is to re painted / powdercoated by specially preparing the surface, and carefully painting with some of the black / chrome effect powders / colours. Please ask for individual quote for refurbishing chrome alloys.

mds, no problems using the photo mate, i think that looks very good and a bit different, in saying that i won't be doing it myself because of the hassle.

diss, cheers for the comments mate, i've still got the spacers. bring the money to the rr day at star if you want them. i'm not in a rush to sell em.
