Hi,i have done a search and can't find anything about this so here goes...I recently bought a ibiza tdi 130 and when the engine warms up on idle there is a lot of movement on the engine as if a mount has gone, but i got it up on the ramp at work and had a look and all engine mounts look ok,when i hold the revs at about 1000 the engine is very smooth and it doesnt move about,is the movement normal or can you adjust the idle speed on the diesel, thanks.

Idle is not adjustable.
Could be all sorts of things but a poor idle can suggest the air mass meter is on the way out!
Also the top engine mount is prone to failure on the leon could it be the same on the ibiza?
I know you say you have checked them have you looked at the top mount ?

I checked the top left engine mount again and when the engine is switched off you can move it so i am gessing it is that one so i phoned seat up and it is £90 inc vat,do anywhere else sell them or would it be main dealer only?

Yes it can, I adjusted it on my Mk4 Ibiza PD TDI.

You do get a lot of movement on the mounts at idle, maybe what is being seen is actually normal. Might be worth comparing with a similar car ?

But should you be able to feel it shaking when sat in the car?
Thats what mine is like.

These cars have a dodgy idle from factory, mine shakes a bit sometimes, the whole car, its normal according to Seat and my dad's Skoda Fabia vRS did it.

Mine charges £80 something + vat per hour for labour - I reckon you'd end up paying £45 or thereabouts for half an hour of their time which is probably what they'd ask for. You can pretty much buy Vagcom for that!

I will give them a call later and ask them.
Is there anyone who lives near hull that can do it for me cheaper??
