Just went to my local dealer to have the boost pipe sorted(this is the third time) chap came to me with a £93 bill, paid went out opened the bonnet and it was still hanging off. Went mad got them to put it back on and was given a refund. Tried telling me that my turbo's knackered as when they took the pipe off in the lower section, lots of oil came out. They then said that a new turbo fitted was £1700:w4nk: I could probably get a hybrid fitted cheaper than that on exchange. So there gonna order me two new pipe sections and hopefully it will stop popping off. Turbo has packed up my a**!!

Thats what i thought Poverty! the turbo is fine, it's just that stupid design of a pipe which is held on by coat hanger wire:lol: what a crap design, don't think they have this issue on the 2.0 tdi's???

You need two clips, not two pipes! The clips are the weak point in the kit!

The pipes only need replacing when they've been rubbing on something, I had to replace my top one on my old 130 as it decided to throw it off into the alternator pulley!

The small metal lugs on the pipe ends (that the clips retain) are quite weak and can wear down - especially if the pipe's been off once or twice. Once this happens, it's new pipe time, and the pipes are quite pricey.

You can't put jubilee clips on these pipes, as the pipes have metal ends which slide inside rigid plastic housings such as intercooler etc.

Oh and it's normal to get oil in the boost pipes downstream of the turbo, doesn't mean you need a new turbo.

Cheers for the comments chaps. Can't remember who said it but your completly right all i need is new clips, besides i've allready got new pipe sections. Oh well theyve ordered them now. The noise i was getting when going over certain bumps appears to have gone. Kid at the dealers said that the part connected to the smic was loose. Thing is the sound seemed to be coming from higher up.
