hey everyone,

got my MOT today, given the car a quick once over and everything should be ok touch wood! however is there any random thing mk1 LC's tend to fail on?

Brakes are all new this year, tyres are good, all lights, wipers and the horn is working only thing I can't check is emmisions! anything I'm missing?

centre support bracket on exhaust is a fairly common fail or advisory depending on place testing.
The bracket can fail.
If they do repiars there and they try to sell an exhaust or new bracket find someone than can weld it.

Otherwise im not aware of any common issues. Emissions, should be ok.
Make sure your lights are aligned given you have hids.

Concur with the exhaust mounting brackets. I had one sheared towards the rear of the exhaust when mine was MOT'd in june, I got an advisory as the rest of the system wasn't loose enough to cause a fail.
Nothing else wrong with mine due to me spending money replacing suspension, tyres and brake pads for better items ways before the originals wore out, oh and only 15k miles in 4 years ownership from new :)

if your mot fails on that exhaust bracket get them to weld it. i got quoted 245 for a new one including labour etc so i went for it as i needed the car the very next day. Half an hour and a phone call later the said they couldn't get a bracket and so they'd weld it. it cost me 20 quid.....chancers. If the weld will pass then go for that. Kepp ur levels topped up, heck ur tyres etc etc...the usul. My CV boot joint went. I know a couple thats happened to.

windscreen cracks, as they keep moving the goalposts - make sure smaller than 40mm diameter sweep of wipers and your good to go.

we have never changed the goal posts.

10mm damage in zone A (145mm either side from centre of the steering wheel, and in the swept area).

40mm damage in the remainder of the swept area.

Anything below this is fine.

Bad testing. The tester, if the bulbs are more blue than white, should have failed them.
