the needles wont need doing mate, my old dials was used as a template to get the mph in the correct position, all i have to do is get the old cluster out, take apart, remember where the needles sat, take out old dials, put in new ones, needles back in, put together and replace in dash, i will do a step by step guide on this,
by the way people i dunno if im right, but i believe im the first one with 140mph white dials??

Surrey darling...
Thats kinda what I was getting at matey... you can probably get the needles exactly back to where they were when you re-build them but clocks can legaly read +/- 10% from the factory - using the GPS would allow you to elliminate this all together ;)

Look forward to seeing the guide though as it's always good to see how it all comes apart! :D

I have put original cupra r ones in my cupra they need to be fitted the same way the after market ones do , if you do it carefully the needled will match, here's what i did;
Take the clocks out remove the clear cover ,it is held on with clips dead easy to do, then find your self two tea spoons hold them the right way up and put the tip of each one opposite sides if the needle and push the handles down slowly, the needle will then pop off, repeat this on all four needles, remove the old dials they just lift off, now gently push the needles on to where you think is right, do NOT push right down yet now with out putting the cover back on go and connect the dials to the car and switch the ignition on you will see all the needles move (do this with a cold engine it is easier, and remember how much petrol was in the car) and are all out of position you will now be able to prise the needles off and re reposition them when you have done this switch the ignition off and then back on, the needles should all be where you want them if not you will have to do it again until they are,:cry: this is a right pain in the arse but i found that it was the only way to get the needles spot on,when pushing the needles on when you are happy be careful as they tend to move downwards if they do this you have to start al over again, the other problem i had was that if i disconnected the battery when i connected the clocks the immobiliser came on and the car would'nt start, but is you leave the battery connected all is well, except the air bag light comes on and will need resetting, my local stealer did it for free.
I hope this all makes sense it can be a pain but is worth doing properly.:funk:

i am definatly intrested in this. £35 seems a bit excessive but if we get a few people who knows.

Stick up a guide when you do it and if its easy it might loosen my wallet.

Not too loose or mothra will get out though.
