Cambelt Kit cost

been to look on awesome site and they arent advertising the timing belt kit now..

I've been toying with the idea of DIY'ing it, but everytime I lift the bonnet and see the lack of space I think "nah sod it, get a garage to do it..."

just emailed Diesel Geek to ask if that kit will fit the AMK/BAM engines

not a bad price either.... $259 = £125 + P&P from the states

only thing it doesn't include is the aux belt tensioner..... but it does include the thermostat, and thermostat housing

Should fit alright, there was no mention of an AUQ engine code either but everything fitted mine perfectly.

everything matches, apart from the aux drive belt... AMK/BAM ends in 'B', the dieselgeek kit one ends in 'C'.... will check ETKA later when I get chance and see what the difference is

Dieselgeek have emailed me back, p&p is $46, making it $305 total = £148

£20 cheaper than the ECS kit from Awesome, but with the thermostat etc included.....

choices !!

just checked on ETKA, and the AUX drive belt listed on the Diesel Geek webpage is correct:

06A260849C - ribbed v-belt - 21,18X1195MM GATES / AEH,AKL,AGN, APG,AUQ,ARY ARL,AMK

I think i paid approx. £80 just for the cambelt and tensioner kit for SEAT main dealer

just checked and that's the kit I've quote earlier in this thread, and just double checked and yes it does come with the Thermostat !!!

Infact, looking at the descriptions etc, I would be inclined to say that the ECS and Dieselgeek kits are the same
