Drove ace, looks brill and makes my car look well old !!!

But hasnt cruise, foldy mirrors, climate nor leccy rear windows.

So dont think its enough to make me change (handles sweeter too)

The MK2 wheels look huge!

I like the MK1 better too, the MK2 is going down the 'bubble' looking route.

How sexy is the MK1 front end right fair.......I wanna jump on it and make love.

The mk2 is bigger, im pretty sure, but I still like the shape of the mk1, dont get me wrong the mk2 is one heck of a car, but entirel on looks, its got to be the mk1, the new leon might be a grower though

The Mk2 is a bit too fat, heavy and not as nimble IMHO....

Incidentally, where's your rear electric windows, climate control & foldy - I thought that they were standard across the range on all but the "below base" spec? (Well, folding mirrors on the Cupra diesel that is....)

I agree mk2 is a bigger car, too big for me.

I had the old shape NISSAN PRIMERA, had a test drive in the new shape. far too big for me.

why are they making the new models bigger ?

Extra strength, more safety, more electrics.

And yes it makes the car look dated, but that's only to be expected when placed next to a new model.

BMW were always masters at that though, change a very slight detail so the new ones looked much nicer than the old, but there wasn't actually much difference!

I prefer the Mk1's looks, but only if it has the Cupra R bumpers (Sorry Cupra guys ;)).

Otherwise it's Mk2 all the way (The top end ones with 18" wheels anyway) :D

Its took me a while but i wouldnt go back to my mk1 Leon now i have my new FR. The handling on the twistys is really really impressive. The 170 bhp diesel is superb, the pull in 3rd is so addictive and in FR/Cupra guise i think it looks okay too. Not as gorgeous as the mk1 but still different especially the sexy lights at night

But seriously if you think cos it looks bigger that it cant corner then you must try one.

Its the first car i have had (15 to date, through work. Saab, Audi, VW, Mazda & BMW) that makes me grab the keys on a quiet sunday afternoon and head to the local twisty B roads.

Oh and by the way i work on new highway works and have had the opp to try a few 0-60 blasts early in the morning on my own far away from any road user and have been well impressed with the 7.5 sec times it puts out, whilst giving me 50 mpg :D

I'll wager the naysayers have never driven one properly (or at all)

The single thing that's bad about the Mk2 Leon is the HUGE rear view mirror.
