black touches!

As you all know or maybe not i have a kiwi cupra n have been deliberating over colours for calipers etc n getting nowhere fast. I have however come to the conclusion that as she stands it's like multi coloured swap shop,red badges,orange sidelights,black angel eyes,silver rims,you get the pic...... so considering the amount of black that's on it already,skirts,door trims etc i'm thinking in order to streamline it a bit maybe go with black touches,not a big fan of complete colour coding on the kiwi think it needs something to break it up but that's me!!
What's the verdict on me debadging it or painting em black,black side lights,black calipers,new beesting aerial etclowered on white multispokes,not mad on black rims n thought may set off the calipers subtly. i've seen black rear lights but don't think i really like these n can i get a black centre piece for above the number plate that is currently red. Will it look to chavvy,i'm shite at photoshop so can't play n see......Sorry to waffle but don't wanna look like i belong to the corsa club all opinions welcome..

By the way,does anyone know what size bulbs are needed for the main beam in a set of angel eyes as the lights are hids but the main is tsill that disgusting yellow n i want rid!! not that i ever use em but hey

Agree that 'too much' of one colour is 'too much'.. and think your ideas are on the whole, pretty good.. (not a fan of the very dark rear lights tho') if you do go for the black strip over /between the rear lights, gimme a shout , I have a spare one in my shed
White multis and black calipers should look pretty good imo, and if set also with smoked side repeaters should look pretty good against the light shade of the car.. I 'll shut up now , cos Im starting to sound all arty farty and designer-ish...

Arty farty designer person is good i need honest opinions as can't afford to fook it up!Black strip with the current lights,would that look silly but like ya say i just have visions of silly boys in corsas with black lights,good on black cars but kiwi really not keen but o spose the standards are smoked aren't they?

Probably will n just keep em in case,debadged grilles are what £15?hardly a fortune! Not worth selling em for what you'd get !
Question is mesh grille or standard without badges? D'ya get loadsa crap stuck in the mesh ones?

I'd choose a slatted grille (eg FK) over a mesh grille, any day of the week. Mesh grilles can look a bit Ripspeed, in my opinion.

Mine only has gti badge on it cos it's not a valver but there is one cropped up on ebay last night with the gti16v on it for about 15squid i think n he wants a tenner for just the back gti badge alone,that not makey muchos sense to me

Well thinking about it I don't advertise my roots atall, I've never owned a ford or Vauxhall, I've never even contamplated a plastic fantastic bodykit, I don't wear any jewelery, I don't and never have possesed anything Burrbury & I only wear sportswear in the gym or decorating, hmmm maybe I am in denial??

i learned the leasson when one of my mates twatted one side of his ibiza back in 2001 and couldn't get those horrible wing stickers so had to spend more money getting the wing Keyed in as the paint has faded around it!

To be honest I agree with the majority you do need something to break up the Kiwi or it's a bit garish, must have white wheels to!

Ahh well, I did used to work there!

I'm not too sure I like my headlights either, I personally wouldn't fit chrome angel eyes though. Thing is, standards are just too... standard...

And there's not many alternatives out there.

My car is getting some bodywork mods done over the winter (smoothing here and there, full respray) so I may get the bodyshop to play around custom making me some headlights. I like the F2 rally car ones.
