Thankyou VERY much for your replies in speed although I got caught in traffic after work and couldnt see it in the pitch black!!! Next time I will get to atempt to fix this problem will be in 2-3 weeks when i next get in my car!!

I not got a rough idea of where it is although they picture would be perfect if i could see it! Would it be possible for you to email it to me please!!! Ill PM you my address :)

Was curious of why it just started to happen though or isit just a natural movement of some pipes/tubes?

Once again thanks for your replies and hopefully this is the problem!!

OK here is a picture of the ibiza engine bay, I have circled the area where the intercooler pipe vibrates against the fuel filter and also circled where the airbox vibrates against the strut brace although a strut brace isn't fitted in this picture but you get the jist.

Am I right in saying that intercooler pipe looks like it's made of metal ?

Mine was a black plastic pipe. Perhaps the Cupra TDIs are different ?

Well spotted, mines is plastic too... as was my Non-PD Toledo was.

Maybe its cause the Cupra TDI has a FMIC it might have different piping too

I must admit I thought that too when I posted but it was the only decent photo I could find on the net which I could illustrate the areas concerned, still I think everybody with any doubt will get the picture.

Thanks aceman :) Just cable tie the big 'silver but black' tube to the little ones? or Around both big pipes and the big unit with the 4 smaller pipes coming out from? :)

Personally I would get some 22mm or bigger pipe insulation foam or similar from your local DIY store and just cable tie some around the intercooler pipe (silver pipe in the picture) between the fuel filter (large canister with pipes coming out of the top) this way everything is allowed to flex when the engine moves moves around. All that is needed is to stop both componants from directly touching each other and hence vibrating causing the aweful noise you are experiencing.

Wow... Such a small design fault causing me so much worry has been fixed by simply cable-tie'ing a bit of ole carpet i found to the fuel housing haha.

thanks for everyones help as ive finally managed to get to my car to see if it was that!

I tried the intercooler pipe thing on my car to stop it from making a hell of a noise didnt make a difference but i took it to the seat dealer today and it turns out it was the rear drivers side wheel bearing..... cost me nothing cos it was done under warranty! its like driving a brand new car now woo hooo! happy days!
