I have a forge split R on my Cordoba 20VT. I was also hoping for the loud psssss sound just like the subaru, but unfortunately this was not the case. I have heard someone else describe it once as a public transportation bus opening its air pressured doors  although I don't think it is that bad. It is just a soft psssh. Furthermore you have to set it to the right click (there is about 53 clicks) I believe for a regular 20VT you open it all the way and then bring it back about 16-19 clicks. If i am wrong please correct me because that would mean mine is off
This does bring me to the next question (if that is allowed within someone elses question)
When I chip my cupra (soon) to +- 200 BHP will the psssh become louder?
And what other methods are there to increase this sound (and ofcourse the HP's? [B)])

thanks

Uprate the filter to an open cone. Run a silicone TIP (I run a forge tip) that will increase the noise & get the ecu remapped.

More boost = more noise:D

I didn't really understand that with the cilicone TIP and resetting the ECU...how will that increase boost?

By the way: I already have an open cone filter...

No not reset, remap. 'Chip' or 'remap' the ECU to increase BHP which in turn increases the 'boost'.

The silicone hose wont increase the boost but it will enhance the sound of the spool up noise and the 'whoosh' which your looking for;)

Hope this helps

Thank you for this Dan. I'm still new to this whole Turbo aspect. My first turbo car. Before this I had a 206 GTI and before that the escort rs2000, so this is a whole new world for me :funk:

I know what you mean, this is my 1st turbo car but after owning it for over a year Ive learnt quite abit.

I learnt nearly everything by just asking questions (most of them being on here). You soon learn:)

I have a quick question on this subject. I am soon to be hopefully purchasing my second Cupra; which already has a Forge recirc - I presume the normal 007p. It is still running the stock airbox; but with a Forge TIP, so will I get any dump noise?? I would like it, so what is best to do; buy an open cone or sell the 007p and get one of the SplitR thing's? What would be louder; the 007p with a TIP and open cone?? Or a SplitR with the same accompanying mods??

Cheers

Like I said I have a open cone filter and the forge splitR. It makes a reasonable dump sound. I still want to place a silicone TIP (which I presume is merely a replacement of the original hoses running to the DV and air filter??) and wonder what the change in sound will be then. It seems to me like people here are really pleased after having placed that.

Except why are those silicone things so damn expensive?

They are expensive. Some silicones are cheap but its better to stick with a trusted name like forge or samco. The quality shows in camparison with cheap products.

Im also relocating the DV using silicones and various t-pieces. This will ensure the dv and the charge will be re-directed to the cooler part of the engine. My girlfriend runs a relocation kit and a 007dv and it makes a great noise, very loud. Sounds more like a BOV.

So with me running the split r I would imagine it will be loud

I’m no expert but it looks fine to me. It shouldn’t sound like that though!! Sounds like the 007 isn’t opening properly and pressure is going back through the turbo. If that is the case it will reduce the life of it dramatically! Again I don’t really know what I’m talking about so get your car looked at!!!
