You can buy the end connection from any good car shop, even halfords!

If you take it to a place like that they will do it for next to nothing mate, its only a 2 min job

yeh mate but i used to work at halfords and it aint as easy as that haha!!! the actual arial connector that is fitted to the car and the wire is whats snapped you couldnt buy a adapter from halfords as you would have to chop the end off and fit new one which couldnt be done as it would just be wiring then... so by looks things am going to have to get new arial all together but i wondered if there was a alternative which could be cheaper to do

cheers

Am I missing something (probably my marbles)? But why cant you just chop the broken end off and crimp on another? Surely its just like doing the aerial for the TV..

i have no idea if you can do that or not... i havent seen any type of "repair kits" for car radio ariels to be honest....

You wouldn't need one...

Just trim back the cable Chris, get an RF jack for a TV and see if that fits on the connection on the back of the radio (Probably will) then job done.

What are you lot talking about. Halfords is not the only option; find a local, proper specialist, they will replace the aerial end itself, CHR is along the right lines - trim back the inner core very carefully, this should reveal a thick wire/strand, the outer 'hairy' is also required to touch the replacement end at the base.
