Matt Neal is a P***k tried to put Plato out during the second race and became the 4th VXR team member in the last race. He and he alone peobably cost Plato the championship.

I think our opinions on the day are well documented. I would prefer it if we can keep this thread on course as a means of sending our best wishes back to the team. Or serious discussion about the racing and the wider post race post season ramifications.

Please keep the expletives and spleen venting to a minimum please because i'll only delete them.

Was a good weekend, we saw Scott sat in the garage after the presentations, but didn't get to speak to him, but his look said it all...

Can't wait to get behind the team again next year, bring on the derv!

Been a brilliant finale and season even with the championship outcome, some of the best racing I've ever seen, hats off to SEAT & JP they did a brilliant job.

Bring on the first race at Brands

A true team won the team's tile tho! :)

Watched this on the tv...was with y'all in spirit.....

Whatever the result.. JP was outstanding...... the trials and tribulations he had to go through merely serve to underline what a proper star he is.

Well done all the team, done us all proud again.

Awesome days racing. Will sift through the 5GB of photos I took tonight :)

Big well done to JP for racing at all considering his injuries. Shame about the final result but we saw some good racing which means just as much as winning anyway IMO.

Well done Jason, and all of Seat Sport UK.

Congrats to Gio for providing a really exciting championship this year, and lets hope some more top drives of the like of JP, DT, Gio, Jackson and Turkington come through in the BTCC next year. :)

Well what a weekend that was.Just woke up after a fantastic weekend (apart from some of the results) with the jolly campers, drinking from 10 in the morning till the early hours the next day takes it out of you and then to have phil waking everyone up at 0645 to put up gazebos and mark out our spot on the hill is just cruel.Nice to meet a few more members and this camping at the BTCC is only going to get bigger roll on next year. a MASSIVE WELL DONE to the team and especially to JP to race with them injuries takes real guts.

No, Plato didn't have the pace all day & not just because of his injuries.
i know he's got TV contracts but surely filming & driving cars for TV 4 days before the start of the biggest race w/e is a bit naive?

Naive? not really. More unfortunate that he had an accident.

You'll be surprised how many of the other drivers have jobs and contracts outside racing, that also put them at risk of injury before a race weekend. Some are test drivers and many are circuit instructors.

Darren for example is a GT LeMans ALMS driver in between his commitments to SEAT. He could quite of easily had a race accident at any point this season. That could of also ruled him out of driving.

Accidents happen, at any time and without warning, thats why they are accidents. He could just of easily injured himself at home, or injured himself driving to the circuit. Granted he should probably have been wearing his race suit last week, but the Caparo is supposed to be a road-legal car, not something you expect to flambe you when you give it some beans!!

However what he does as a job outside of his racing has little bearing on the results on Sunday. JP drove the wheels off that car all weekend in a heavily ballast laden car. The Leon has struggled for straight line pace all year, that was plain to see, underpowered and a largely undeveloped engine hasn't really helped that situation.

Even if he was uninjured and the last race had been more fairly fought, I still fear the results would of been the same, VX have just had the measure of the field in the second half of the year.

A lot of what if's, but the 2007 season is over now, so they need to work hard over the winter. Come back in 2008 with hopefully a new developed car and take the fight to VX.

I think we should all wish JP a speedy recovery from his burns, an incredible drive(under the circs) in all but the last race, where pratt neal showed just what a prize pillock he truly is....
What Seat need to do is to sign a driver who can properly support JP, Fernando Alonso springs to mind :D

There was a lot of support for JP and he gained a few places on the last race due to a spin at club. There was a hugh cheer for him as he can through. It was unluckly the honda crashed with 3 laps left. If the saftey car came out it might of been a different story but we will never know.
