if so the part number is 06B 133 555 D ("insert for injector") and its £1.23, obviously you need 4!

removed the charge pipe, inlet manifold and TB today.

I also took my strut brace off which is also being re-polished too.

all in it took 3 hours for the lot.

the inlet manifold was harder than I thought because I didn't expect the hoses which are connected underneath it to be there! and they are a pain in the arse to get the clips of, especially that middle bugger!

Im dropping it off at Pristine Polishing 2mo and picking it up friday lunch time :)

though I'm not looking forward to putting it back on! lol

i wouldn't do it myself, because of the time it takes to do it by hand, and yes ok you CAN get the same finish by hand, but VERY LITTLE ppl do!

plus, its only costing me £20 to do the inlet manifold and £25 to do the charge pipe!

I looked on ebay at polishing kits for drills and a decent one was £20 +

so tbh, I would much rather pay that little bit extra for a pro to do it and to save my body the hardship!

its worth paying for saving the hardship alone never mind the better quality finish!

BCM.. if you remove it it makes your turbo sounds a bit louder apparently and you MAY gain literally a couple of bhp

Iv looked at it and to be honest it is not for the faint harted!

I asked "Feel" on here how exactly you remove it and he said you need to heat it up, bash it, cut it, pull it etc etc and then weld in a sleeve!

so I cannot be bothered to do this, so wont! lol

see Feel's original thread... http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=44810&highlight=charge+pipe+silencer

edit: heres a pic of the silencer for you...

got the parts back today and WOW!

I had the following parts polished:

1. Inlet Manifold (i told him not to bother with its belly or at the bottom where it bolts to the engine as you cant see here with the engine cover on!)
2. Charge Pipe
3. Throttle Body
4. Strut Brace

In the end I paid £80 all in. I was originally quoted £60 all in but the guy wanted an extra £20 (he charges £20 an hour) as the charge pipe took him a lot longer to do. apparently he was too scared to put it in his acid bath to strip the grey/silver powder coat stuff off (as he didn't know if there was any rubber seals inside the silencer part!) so he had to grind it all off.

tbh I'm very happy with it all and I think £80 is a fair price, very quick turn around time too! (less than a day!)

enough talk and here are the pics, which I must say do NOT do them any justice at all! ;) ...
