two words........"oh ****"!!!!!!
next month my service is due!!£££and new brake discs too!!£££thats after this months new rear pads and clutch!!!!
how hard is it to change the water pump???dont like paying labour costs anymore!!:(

The water pump is near the timing belt and linked. so do the timing belt at the same time as the belt has to come of to get to it. i had both done my audi as the garage suggested it.

There's shedloads of posts and info on water pump and fan failures if you search.
Make sure you get a water pump with a metal impellor and a full cambelt service including tensioners and rollers if it is the pump.

Sounds like your plastic could be on meltdown next month, mines still reeling from road tax, insurance and then the bloody water pump/cambelt bill!

Have to agree with rest.
Common for water pumps and cooling fans to fail, fans should come on with air con, even with a cold engine, if they don,t or only switch on in full speed bursts, then they are faulty.
Hope you get it sorted.

something has gone coz everywhere is wet!!!!!!!topped up reservoir before a drive and when i got back it was down to minimum and there is water from underneath the res.
still think it cant just be a leak thats makin the temp rocket up....however when i bought the car from seat they said the reservoir was cracked so they replaced it...........just wondering whether this is a common fault???
