Whats this fuel thingy

Just been topping my brake fluid and spotted this, just wanted to know what is it and what it does,
appears to have 3 piping going to it and 2 leading to fuel line rack. The other thing is, they seem to be sticking out abit, should i push them in or leave it? :confused:

Can't be certain but it's probably something to do with emmissions and fuel distribution :shrug:

If you look on my pic in roughly the same area you can see the Fuel filter on mine.
I'd be surprised if it isn't a fuel filter on yours. I know they are different size/shape, but it runs on different fuel, so maybe thats why?

Dave yours is a fuel filter! im ceratin on that! (had diesel before)
Just checked, my fuel filter is at back near the fuel tank! so it cant be anoher fuel filter

In that case....... i don't know :p
You could try disconnecting something, running the engine and then checking for faults on Vagcom. might give you a hint :lol:

It's just a plastic cover (on top of a heatshield that protects the fuel lines) that the lines pass through.

DPJ, inside the box, is theere a joint where the fuel line meet? i somtims get sniff of petrol when starting, checked the the injectoors, fuel filte.

If i wanted to check that box, how do i remove the cover?
