CUPRA TDI diesel consumption ??

Hi all,

I am new to this forum seeing as i have just purchased my BLOODY great and beautiful Ibiza CUPRA which was kinda of a hard decision seeing as i was goin to buy a VW Golf GT but anyways apart from being a great car i am having some issue's, When i fill up my tank the Autonmy states 320miles i do not know if this is correct or not but i tend to see myself at the pumps nearly 3times a month i do mixture of town and motorway driving but not much of it really which is a surprise to me i was expecting a bit more more to the tank.

I use the BP ultimate mixed in with radex just to clean the injectors etc but my question is shouldnt the diesel manage more miles i have had 2 full tanks with the quota 320 and yet only manged 305 then dreadfull low warning chirp comes on, what i am surprised is my mates got a 55 cupra and he is managin nearly twice the miles on a full 45l Tank full, is there anyone else with this same problem or do you think i might have a problem with the car ??

Any advice would be 110% appreciated and what does everyone else get to the tank and is 320Miles correct on a full tank of diesel or is my auotonmy acting funnny.

Oh yeah i often manage 45 + MPG on all journeys ...

I usually see that on mine but only if ive been abusing it all the time! How old is your car? Do you put redex in every tank? Cos you dont need to!

Mine mostly does high 30's low 40's to the gallon, (slightly heavy right foot)nowhere as good as my old cars, Mitsubishi Colt, C3, Arosa BUT it is loads more fun to drive. I have just had it remapped and am hoping that this may improve the mpg a little

PS, If you rag it regularily, do you need radex? ever?

Mines been remapped now and my mpg seems to have improved!

I get 400+ miles in my sport, thats with a few performance tweaks

Mine always staes 350 when I fill it up. This must be a guess unless the car is phsycic and knows how I am going to be driving.
I wouldn't take a lot of notice Evan & if you are getting 45+ per gallon may I politely sugest that you ain't playing hard enough

Jenk what performaces upgrades have you put on ur cupra for you to achieve 400 + ??? Dozza how much did your remap cost and wahst ur new BHP

Mines a pd130 sport mate but pushing higher bhp figures than a cupra, its got the usual........Forge FMIC, Custom code phase 2 remap, Panel filter, Mufflerectomy etc.

Stop putting radex in, you dont need it every tank! If i drive mine gently I can get over 400miles per tank and that was when it was std before map and zorst, filter etc! The other day it was averaging 54mpg sat at a steady 80 on the motorway!

I had a full custom remap which was £345 from Bell Autos, dont know bhp pete said should be around 190+ and 300ftlbs, thats why it says BHP TBC in my sig!!!

Am considering gettin my Supa Dupa Curpa remapped coz am gettin quoted 220bhp with a remap sounds fun and with ova bits and bops, Yeah i thought i was the only one with low diesel consumption but hey its the drive that matters really and believe me i am pushin this baby hard enough a bit of torque steer but thats expected ESP is a dream !!

You wont see 220bhp without a hybrid, std cupra blower is maxxed out around the 200 mark!

If someone will tell me how, i will paste the before & after graph from my remap. the torque improvement has the ESP flashing in 2nd, 3rd & 4th & that was in the wet & really shoving my foot on the floor!
