I'm proud owner of a Seat Leon TDI FR and found the transition from petrol to diesel better than I thought. Though however having driven 700 miles in about a month I've already had the DPF light come on three times, once at 300 to which the guy at New Southgate told me the method of clearing it in the manual does not work (Subsequently his colleagues told me otherwise), again at 470 miles to which I successfully cleared driving in 3rd gear 2500 revs approx for 15 - 20 minutes, and again around 550 but this was cleared as I was able to do some motorway cruising!! Question is how do you guys drive your FR's, I tend to gear up to 4th and do lots of driving in London which probably isn't the best situations to put the car in as there are plenty of stop and goes. Thoughts appreciated.

I have not had the DPF light on either. I travel long distances to work and my wife uses it also for work. Now covered 5k miles since July.
I drive it quite hard once oil warmed up as I did with a previous cupra TDi and found this improved performance on the car as it learns your driving style.

To be honest, my run to work in the morning is less than ten minutes. I can't hammer it because the car isn't warm enough, thus I do pootle.

I have a similar issue driving into Leeds from 6 mile away is not far enough really. Could do with a good blast to destress after work.
I actually take the long route home everyday onto the M60 and loop round via cheadle. Does the job!

Had my particle filter light come on twice in 8k since Feb, cleared it by taking it for a blast on M62, usually smells a bit when it comes on as well. Most annoying thing for me is a horrible engine noise on overrun & up to 2k revs. Intermittant tho and dealers sick of me now!! Any ideas
If its driven hard / fast i find the exhaust note at just above idle when the revs are dropping very "boomy" for want of a better word. Just touch the accelerator when its idling and you hear it (between 1000 and 800 rpm)
Only when the exhaust is hot do i hear it. (hot as in 4th and 5th gear usage near the red line for a while (private track))
No DPF light here, 3500 on the clock. I find I can warm the oil up really quick by getting to 130 by the end of a stretch of dual carriage way close to my house. Its good to go then. Drove to Dagenham (160 miles) the other day and took it easy for a change though and actually got 50.7 mpg. Couldn't believe it, wont be doing that again in a hurry, good mpg is for poofs
