I really don't think you want to go 60mm, not if you want to ever get over speed humps.

Realisically 40mm is about as far as you want to go, if you still want to have a decent-ish ride and use the car on the potholed crap roads we have in the South East.

The other problem is the standard shocks won't last long dropped at 60mm, as they aren't designed to work that low..

thanks for the info. Much appreciated. Not quite got the hang of this modern car stuff, my last car was a mk2 golf, which you can do what you want with. Can i ask a silly question?? After each message details of your car come up, how do i do that???

60mm is quite extreme if you still have the 16" alloys. But, if you've been given the springs for free, go for it. You can always remove them if you don't like it ;)

But i would add to RobM post, word of warning doing that might permanently damage your OE shocks, as be said above, IT will damage them, they where never mind to run springs that short!

To drop 60mm you need either sport shocks or better coilovers!

It will make them wear faster, without any shadow of a doubt, but running them with 60mm springs isn't going to suddenly make them snap in half. It will reduce their usable life a lot though and I could not agree more that it's well worth adding new shocks.
