At Inters on saturday and was speaking to the guy on the Tunit stall. He had his 170 TDi there, got to see how its wired in, basically plugged into the wiring harness by the engine(if you have one) then 2 wires connected to the battery, he says his 170 was actually running close to 180 on the r/r, he now says its doing 208bhp, which is nice.more info here

Mine averages 169/173bhp [x 5 runs] AT THE WHEELS after remap - soft torque profile [using my G Tec Pro] - car has 9k on the clock at the moment and the latest SEAT ECU parameter updates.

NB:the lastest ECU s/w Bosh/Siemans have "code scramblers" built into the embedded chip to stop tuners changing data SS have built a doggle type device that interogates the s/w and unscrambles/scrambles the revised code so that the check sums match [all too complicated for me]

there was another guy there @ inters he too had the 140 and was looking at buying too, its easily fitted so i could be tempted, speaking to someone fron ************** leon_cp i think who had fitted a chip off ebay for £35 and said it was great, this is not an option i would follow though, tunit literature advises 280lb/ft torque. anyone used tunit before.

Sorry to hear of your troubles jonnyash... Personally I'm rather disappointed as I have been looking at going the Superchips route for my 170. Good luck and keep us posted!

how old is your car as it was my ecu software that was different to the car they have and developed mines on a 07 plate

same as... mine's on an 07 too

Do you know what plate their development car was on? Pardon my ignorance  but I don't understand why they don't update the map to reflect the latest version of the engine/ecu!! Seems rather a limited application otherwise...

Do superchips do a trial like revo do? It must be hard comparing the differences when you've driven another car inbetween.

The pre-map/post-map drive needs to be back to back IMO to get a real feel of the difference?

spoke to Tunit as thinking of getting the van one to see if it helps with the MPG, and you can try before you buy, sounds even better, just need to get the cash now

Its looking like my favoured option at the moment, found 2 dealers near me that stock them, going to see if the mailorder co will still give me the Inters price of £400+vat & free K&N filter.

Ok, excuse my ignorance- my understanding of electronics maxed out with the invention of the microwave...

Why will this unit not cause problems, while by the sounds of it, remaps for the 170 currently do- jonnyash etc?

I'm itching to get my 170 chipped but don't want to stick on a map while they still seem to be in the "development" phase. Especially if I can't remove the map when I want i.e. via bluefin or similar.

The Tunit sounds perfect- more power, more torque, removable, same(ish) price as a remap... but whats the catch??

since mine has been put back to the first map it now seems to be running fine only thing is its took a week to settle down apparantly they have an adaptive learning on the ecu a just take a while . now it is settled im tempted to go get it indepentantly rolling roaded just to see what it is doing incase the "adaptive learning " is holding some of power off and the gains dont warrant the money ive spent because i can have my money back as having problems and this was the last resort

just been and looked at the tunit option! and thats as far as i would go 195bhp + 280ftlb you must be joking for that price, standard is car doing around 182bhp +263ftlb so if you thinnk 13bhp + 17ftlb is worth it then you must have money to waste
