Who should I talk to about this? Has it been done before? Know that alot of the frenchie cars have had cams developed for them, wondering if there are any for the VAG unit!

I would love to have a little mental 1.4 NA motor. Especially if it then inturned was inclined to have its rev limiter highered. Think it would suit the car well if I then also uprate the suspension.

No mine has the 85hp engine. Dont know what my engine code is though. Do you know the code of yours? I have found two companies that specialise in designing and producing cams and will approach them, see what their opinion is and if they can shed any light between the difference of my engine to yours.

I have found some cams for a 1.4 VAG unit but im not sure if its suitable for our 1.4 or older models!

why bother on a 1.4, seems waste of money, its not gonna be an amazing increase, best off trading in and moving up rather messing with internals.

and is'nt the difference betweent the lower powered 1.4 and the higher powered 1.4 that ones FSi and ones not??

Ant, yours is only 200cc more than his, and you have a supercharger strapped to it...... he could do the same to his if he wished

Its all because of insurance. I pay 2.8 grand for my 1.4. If I had bought a car a couple months earlier before the insurance companies drastically increased premiums for young drivers I would probably have a Ibiza FR or a 2.0 FSI A3.

I could always sell once I get my 1 years ncb but that would be financially foolish as I would have lost loads on my car. Gonna keep the ibiza for another two years and then move on to more powerful things. In the mean time Im gonna concentrate on having fun with the 1.4 - within reason :D

no ****........

how bad is loosing 2.8k already?

don't waste money on cams. a revvy engine does not suit the heavy tub that is a mk4 ibiza - it needs torque to get it shifting.

Is 1100kg heavy then considering for what it is? Thought by todays standards it wasnt that heavy.

Whatcar.com has it listed as weighing 1028kg (kerb)

I always thought the 1.4 weighed somewhere around that figure!

Is the seat site not a accurate weight either?

We had a look at a Ibiza FR TDi with a few upgrades (weight wise) but then the spare out, and rear seats and it came in at 1150KG's which I believe is around 70KG's down from what seat said?

Great old seat site :p

Mine feels great now I have upgraded a few bits tbh :D

Just to add this Ibiza FR TDi was weighted at Donnington earlier this year.. so not sure how accurate that would be, but id hope very.

You can't afford the insurance on an FR but you want to start uprating internals on the 1.4??? That's going to cost a s**t load more in insurance than the FR standard - or are you planning on not declaring? (ie. not being insured)

I was thinking of being cheeky yes. Would have just replaced uprated internals with the originals if I needed to claim.
