Lots of part numbers, lost of threads on this also.

There are different part numbers as they come from lots of different cars.

Ebay, forum sale sections, or direct from dealers.

As i've said mate, there are loads of part numbers, try searching for yourself, ie "ko3s and part number" and you'll find the answers yourself.

I aint gonna list all the part numbers for you.

The ko3s usually start with K03 then either 052,053 and 058 and have 8 blades.
K03 has 12 blades.

Ok. I'm digging up this thread as I have a couple of k03s questions which i haven't really been able to get answers to. I'm hoping that with some fresh answers we might be able to make this a sticky in the MK3 FAQ section and use it for future reference.

Anyway... I'm looking to step up to a k03s and have noticed that while searching forums and ebay some turbos are transverse, which means what?

What cars should i be looking at get a k03s from as i know that not all 1.8T engined cars that have the S will fit other 1.8T engined cars? Leon Cupra, Audi A3 as it seems there are a lot of wrecked cars be broken down for spare parts on ebay at the moment and am wondering if they are suitable donors

I know about the number of blades, 8 instead of 12 on the standard k03.

Also, the silenced / unsilenced debate. I'm not interested in how they perform / sound against each other, but why are there two types? When they where first manufactured, was one style more expensive than the other, whats the purpose?

Cheers guys

I'm thinking that all the VAG cars that have k03s' which are being advertised on eBay for spares could be a potential source rather than trying to find a turbo specifically. Obviously it just means getting in touch with the breakers and trying to get them to get the info for you.

Cheers for the info though,

I thought Jetta's where transverse? I've seen a few in tha past from these cars but assumed they wouldn't fit our engines?
