hello all,
new to the cupra world and on the look out for sum serious power, i used to own a r5gtt with custom 2.0 turbo with 255bhp and 235lb ft of torque which ran a 12.5 @ pod but ive decided i want sumit abit newer and with the potental these engines have im hoping ive made the rite decision.

what sort of power would i be needin to get close to these sort of times?

obviously, suspenion, brakes, tyres, lsd are all goin to be required aswell :D

to get a 12.5 1/4 mile i wouyld of thought you would of needed about 400bhp or so , dont quote me on that

yeah i want tinkin sum where in that region of power tbh, any1 on here runnin in the 12's or even better the 11's ? (still using the 1.8 t still of course lol)

also quick point to yourself, how do you find the s3 compared to the cupra mate ? (just being nosey :D)

ive got the 4wd sat on the drive mate a evo 6 but tbh it aint as much fun as what i used to hav with the r5 and its so over priced to tune its unreal, plus with the loses through the 4wd system it makes the whole tuning game so much harder

buy a RWD then and tune it up. as said before bill is producing around 500bhp and i dont think he gets as low as 11's, to be honest in a FWD 11's are almost impossible as the whole grip / weight transfer problem is one thing holding you back.

If you want good times, Strip the car out, get IHI and NOS.
Was reading in Golf+ about a guy in a 360bhp mk2 golf who broke the fwd time with ihi and nos, he got 10.666

theres at least 4 r5's with the 1.4 still in place running mid to high11's so 11's are defo poss with a fwd, andy nicoles is running a 10.8 with his rover 25 mate ;);)

The newest one, doesnt mention whether he had a diff fitted and what clutch setup he was running but I would advise getting a diff and a stage 3 clutch for that kind of power, plus a big intercooler!
http://thegolf.co.uk/ plus if you look at the links on the left you'll find your nearest stockist but it really doesnt go into much detail on that particular article but cracking mag all the same.
