Did mine tonight. Dead simple.

You need a fascia adaptor (my local halfrauds stocks them and you can get them cheaper online) as the stereo's not exactly the same size as a standard HU.

Cut up an old credit card or something and insert in into the two small slots on the front of the cd player at the bottom and slowly jimmy it out.

Put your new cage in place.

Unplug the plugs and the aerial, swap them over for the new HU (may need an adaptor) and you're away.

I've fitted HUs on quite a few cars, and not just my own. The Leon was by far the easiest I've ever done - not a challenge at all!

That definitely sounds like he was talking about the Ibiza!

Don't forget to order a power aerial adaptor with the fascia and wiring, or you'll never get the best signal on the radio :)

Presumably you've got an adaptor to convert the SEAT connector into an ISO one? There's a blue/white (IIRC) wire on the ISO connector to which your power attenna wire can connect.

To save joining the wires, I actually prized the pin out of the ISO connector, and inserted the Antenna wire directly into the resulting hole! A bit difficult to explain without a diagram :(

The standard aerial in the Leon is amplified for a better, strong signal. If you want to keep this working, you need a small adaptor that uses an external power supply to power it, now the OE headunit has gone.

These cost less than a tenner and are easy to wire in. They are wired into either the blue or blue/white striped wire from your head unit. One of them will say remote turn on, powered aerial or something similar. Simply wire it into that and plug the aerial in and you're done ;)

Is that the same blue wire that would be used as a remote for the a sub and amp?

No, you should have 2x blue wires from the headunit...

1 will be Remote switch for you AMP's

1 will be Power Aerial (THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT)

You shouldn't use the 1st, as this isn't technically supposed to supply current, it's just a switching signal for the amps to switch on/off.

The Power Aerial is designed to "Power" an aerial amplifier.

With my Alpine HU the AMP remote wire was a fly lead, and the Power Aerial was loomed into the ISO connector (I think it's socket 5 in the ISO, if you look close on the ISO plug each pin is numbered).

Cheers for that, it turns out I had one in the garage as didn't know what it was when I put my head unit in!! so fitted it yesterday and voila.....lots of radio stations and no more static! very pleased!:D
