i was looking around halfrauds the other day, and came across the spark plugs, got me thinking lets have a look at the best ones for the cupra, apparantly you can get improved accelaration and bla bla bla with bosch spark plugs?!? so i was just wondering if anyone has upgraded there plugs and could tell me what differences they actually make and what are the best makes?

When i changed my plugs (agg engine) halfords didn't sell the ones i needed. They listed the bosch but they didn't fit so had to go to the dealer.

NGK or Bosch will be fine. You're not going to get any super performance gains, so don't bother wasting extra money on 'upgraded'.

NGK every time

bosch for some reason always let me down in the past very badly when i most need reliabilty - cost me a national championship once too

Just so long as no one starts banging on about multielectrode plugs giving massive power advantage...

I'm feeling a little anti-NGK at the moment after having had a set in the Alfa - but it's a particular curiosity of the Alfa Nord alloy twincam that they're just not happy on *anything* apart from Golden Lodge plugs. I'm told it's all to do with the shape of the combustion chamber (hemi) and how far into the chamber the plug gap fits - get it wrong and it messes with the flame front and the engine don't run right. Anyway, apologies for my rambling right off topic...
