just got a gti for 300

Hi ppl , newbie here . just got me a balck gti 8v for 300 notes

that one . needs a wee bit of work but engine seems good . need to lose the luxus and the cupra thing , sort the arches and do all 4 brakes . but for 300 notes it came with 17" alloys ( im gonna sell em tho ) half tank of fuel ( result) and 5 mths tax . should have her mot worthy by end of month and looking good too . need a few bits n bobs so anyone breaking one ? thanks .

restore it to original spec, and you'll have yourself a nice motor

How could anyone think that the number plate on the bumper looks cool?

Still so long as it's not rotten and the engine goes then it's a bargain for £300.

in the process of doin the brakes right now , disks are like symbols !! engine seems good , not had a thourogh check , put good power right thru rev range . will defo be goin back to standard ! but ill keep the magnex not sure what to do about wheels tho ? are the wheels that are on it original cupra ones? if so i may refurb them

and considering you can get some of that money back by selling on the spare rims .... welcome to the select band of 'Savers' fella.. its always good to see someone dragging a '2' back from obscurity

thanks , its never gonna be concours , but theres life in it yet . ordered some leccy mirrors from ebay ( in kiwi green tho lol , paint time ) and trying to get standard clusters . i also need number plate lights for my new 'proper' plate lol and dear god someone sell me some washer jets fast !! i have LED bling badboys !

I have a set of 'bog standard' rears as in not the slightly smoked Cupra ones , if they're of any use to you .. wouldnt want much for them, probably cost you a chunk for the postage though....

I have a hammer if you want to send me the leds I can make sure they never see another car bonnet ever again.
£300 for a car is ace, if I came across one for 300 id be stripping it and tracking it.

front brakes done , and gave the calipers a nice coat of black hammerite gonna crack on and get started on the archwork now .

seems gtis are becoming easily available for under a K,
two on there for around 1000 with the all important ONO, minus another hundred or two as well.

To be fair, 300 quid for a ****ed one would still be cheap. You could sell it off in bits for quite a bit more than that if it came to it.
