Servicing in merseyside?

Need a 40k service on by cupra TDI. Used to go to Arnold Clarke but they seem to have gone. Where do merseysiders go for a Seat service? Anyone tried the Liverpool Alex lawrie Skoda dealer. Cheers

Hi Chris,

Service cost for a 40k on my TDI cupra from Alex Lawrie was £272 (compared to £280 from IMG and £295 from Lookers M/C)

AL gave me 10% off that price though as a new customer and changed the brake fluid, collected and delivered that car at the times they said they would and washed and vac it as well, so well pleased.

Arnold Clarke never manged to clean the car once!

So have left good feedback and very happy to use them again!

I hate goin to garages!!!!......but

Well took the LCR in today for a check up as you know I bought the car private and ddnt trust all the story i was fed by the seller; so today I took it to SKODA on derby rd, liverpool and 1st of all I'll give it a thumbs up, very good service and as mentioned in prev posts i also got free valeting...whe hey!!

WEll then, the LCR went in to have a rear passenger door seal fitted (as it was missing when bought), cambelt check-up & brake-wheel bearing check up as there is a low but strange noise coming from that direction when the car is warm and driving over 40mph.....

the response:
door seal could not be fitted as the doo did not have any pre drilled holes ..... so it appears that thismay be a new door? but if so wouldnt it come fron Seat with the holes already drilled?????
2nd, the noise was not from the wheels or discs but may be from the gearbox and caused by the differential, with a lot of noise caused by the front tyres which although brand new (I MUST STATE NOW I DID NOT BUY THEM) r the cheapest....maybe you have heard of them.... SUNNY

++ i need new rear pads, new front discs, 1 exhaust mounting to be welded back

I'm based in Liverpool and usually now head down to IMG in Warrington whenever I need the car to be serviced or something looked at under the warranty.

The guys there are friendly, but the operation is small. Every problem I've had with my Ibiza has required two or more visits (one to investigate and another one or two to fix), and I always am the one repeatedly chasing them to find out when a part they've order has come in or not.

Usually I have to wait about 3 weeks for an slot with a replacement car, and also they don't do repairs on a Saturday (only servicing) which is a pain. It's a good dealer to used if you live close by, but a bit tricky if not.

I think I'll be trying the Skoda garage in Liverpool once I'm out of warranty!

Why wait til out of warranty ? I've always gone down to AL Skoda, in fact, I need to sort out a 30k service there very soon !!

DONT GO IMG!unless you also think 5mins is an hour!!!did all the work great,just sat there forever waiting to collect it.they have one garage between themselves and mazda.they struggle with the work load....5 weeks till i can get anti roll bar replaced...hmm i feel really safe!!!!
ill be going awsome gti next time.10 miles further than img from liverpool.

I always seem to be getting warranty work done at the same time I have a service so I take the car to IMG to kill two birds with the one stone. As much as I think my Ibiza is a great car, there's always something minor going wrong with it - from a rattling door to an FR badge that's faded which I need to get fixed!

I'd agree about IMG's timing too. The car is always ready by the end of the day you take it in, but I made the mistake once of deciding to wait while they did an hour's job on the car... it took nearly 3!

Never had to take mine back since I got it - must be lucky lol !!

My rear washer wiper tube has popped off though I dont think they will do it under warranty though as I've got a Fabia rear wiper & they will probably presume that it was the new wiper that caused it.......
