A supercharger is powered by a belt, or chain, connected to the engine's crankshaft.

in order to use a supercharger, sometimes as much as a third of the total crankshaft power of the engine has to be used in order to driver the supercharger

though you'll probably gain up to 5-10 times the amount of power used.

still, when your talking FWD and power limitations, just going for a turbo replacement seems a better and cheaper option

indeed, but if it was turbo AND supercharged.... :) no lag and MASSES of power.

Although that is possible to do with some cars, i dont know if its possible for a LC or LCR, and im not sure the cost ares worth the results myself.

if you want to be different with the SC route, go to **Storm Developments Clicky***

they Supercharged the 1.8T engine and produced quite a bit of power and the kit is still in development, most interesting of course that there is no lag with an SC

I am not saying its the best option, nor the worst, but its an idea and certianly on this forum would be a one off, as in someone swapping the Turbo for an SC
