My beloved Seat aint starting. I finished work this morning it started fine, took it to Tescos and when I finished my shopping it's not starting just turning over. Lights and wipers work. Any ideas. It's gonna take the Rac 3 hours to get here so I am at home while my car is stuck at Tescos. I hate stuff like this.

its ur ignition coil mate...... leads from the dizzy cap up the engine bay and is attached to the back of the bay.... small wee box LOL

Check see if its hot? if it is then its overheating, may cause to melt, this is down to a broken earth which i found in the connector located to the right of the bay behind the air filter box...

New coil cost me £20 from scrappy and aint had any bother since...

From what u have said thats what i would think it is....

Check that ur getting a spark from the plugs aswell!!

hope that helps!!

ps i was told it was a common fault...

I'll wait fir the RAc to get here. I might as well get some of my £120 worth of cover.I never know ignition coils can fail just like that. I thought it was a gradual thing. I hope it's spark plugs or dizzy cap.

£81 for the part, £30 for the labour. Good thing I have my car breakdown savings account which I put £50 each month for things like this. I feel like a fool for spending so much money.
