Hi I have two questions that I would like answers for. 1 Is the alana cd radio coverd under warranty as it has been playing up. 2 I rang the dealers and they tryed to fob me off, so I ended up having to go down in person to get it booked in [:@]. This took some time as they asked me what was wrong with it. so I explaned the problem was with the code, but as usual they don't listen to what you tell them so this only made it worse. Anyway he said because the battery had been disconected it would invalidate the warranty, I then said what a load of rubbish and that he was having a laugh. He then gave in and booked the car in for next week. So is the radio covered under the warranty, and is he talking a load of rubbish about disconecting the battery.

should be covered, dont see how disconecting the battery could do it?

they can moan if you have messed with the wiring to the radio like soldering wires for an amp or if you have opened up the radio its self.

i think they just dont want to do it, they would rather get some money from you or a bigger job

The Radio is covered for 3 years, also ANY accesory fitted at point of purchase from new by the dealer, I had my cd changer replaced with 2 weeks to go on the warranty my leon, which was dealer fitted as an accessory when I bought it. Even though they say the 3rd year is dealer warranty (first 2 yrs being Seat) they just said "get it done" No problems at all. (Premier in Stoke)

The radio is stuck in [ safe ] mode and no amount of messing will alter it, I have tried every different way of clearing it but nothing works. So it can go to the dealers and they can sort it. Seat cars are fantastic motors but I wish they would use proper radios, this has been nothing but trouble since aia bought it !!. Also the radio has not been modified in any way, it is standard and has never been messed with.

If you turn the radio on itself and leave it on saying SAFE for an hour, it will eventually let you put the code back in again.

If it doesen't then it might be an actual fault with the radio.

One thing I will add, the manual is so wrong when it comes to the radio!

Don't take any cr@p from the dealers, the car has a 3 year warranty, the radio is fitted as standard as part of the car if they want to mess about tell them that you want to speak to the dealer principle. (the top guy in their garage).

Once he comes along tell him politly what the problem is and that it is covered by the warranty. If he does not want to play ball then suggest that the car is not fit for purpose and you want it replaced (as i'm guessing you haven't had it long and ther radio has never worked).

I think the volume goes up and down depending on your speed and therefore road noise

mine is off as I found it very annoying

I think there's an error in the Alana manual and its actually SCAN you have to press to enter the radio code not whatever it says in the manual.

I quite liked the speed related volume thing as long as it was on its lowest setting - anything more than that was too intrusive IMO

Yes you have to put in the code and then press scan. Stupid manual doesnt say that though :censored:
